Diabetic and Hypertensive Examinations
"Eyes are the window to your soul." Eyes also reveal a lot about your health and well being that you may not even be aware of. If you have Diabetes or High Blood Pressure, it is strongly recommended that you have an eye exam at least once a year. We will report to your MD our findings of your ocular health so that optimum care is achevied.
Astigmatism Contact Lens Fittings
If you've been told you have an astigmatism, you might have also been told that you can't wear contact lenses. There have been many advances in technology that have created lens options for all but the most complex of prescrptions. For more information check out our patient resources section.
Multifocal Contact Lens Fittings
If you wear Bifocals or Progressive glasses you may think that you can't wear contact lenses. But there are many options available in the form of "Multifocal Contact Lenses." Multifocal basically means that there is one or more powers in the lens, there are a few examples of these lenses below. Until recently bifocal lenses were not very popular because options were limited. If one design dosent work for you our doctors are willing to work to find one that does. For more information about multifocal/ bifocal contacts check out our patient resources links.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Lens Fittings
Gas Permeable lenses are typically used when "soft" lenses are not able to give the wearer optimal vision. They are much smaller than the average soft contact and are made of a harder material. People with complex astigmatism, bifocal precriptions or that have a condition called keratoconus are commonly fit with gas permeable lenses. They take a little getting used to but most wearers find that they are just as comfortable as soft lenses as long as they are worn on a regular basis. If you are interested in learning more visit our link on our patient resources page to find out more.
